Biography

Dr. James Savage Stone was born in 1868, the son of Civil War veteran Lincoln Ripley Stone (1832-1930) and Harriet (Hodges) Stone (d. 08 October 1928); the family were living in Newton, Massachusetts, as of the U.S. Census of 1880, when James's entry places him at school. In 1902, he married Selma Bowditch, one of the twin daughters of Harvard Medical School professor and dean Henry Pickering Bowditch; they made their home in Framingham, Massachusetts. There James passed away in 1929.
