Biography

William Stone was born in about 1803 in Radnage, Buckinghamshire, England.

William Stone married Mary Stone on 8 Feb 1829 in Radnage.[1]

William and Mary had at least eleven children:

  11. James Stone (1851-)

In 1841 William Stone (age 37) lived at Radnage Common in Radnage with his wife Mary (1) and six children: Edwin (12), Robert (10), William (8), Elizabeth (6), Mary (4), and Ann (2).[2]

In 1851 William Stone (age 48, Chair Turner) lived at Radnage Common with his wife Mary (42, Chair Turner's Wife) and six children: Charlotte (16, Lacemaker), Ann (11, Lacemaker), Rebbecca (9, Lacemaker), John (6), Caleb (4), and Thomas (1).[3]

In 1861 William Stone (age 57, Wood Turner) lived at Bottle Square in Radnage with his wife Mary (51, Lace Maker) and three sons: Caleb (14, Wood Turners Apprentice), Thomas (12, Wood Turners Apprentice), and James (9), as well as grandson Frank S Stone (2).[4]

In 1871 William Stone (age 67, Chair Turner) lived in Radnage with his wife Mary (61, Lace Maker) and son James (18, Chair Turner).[5]

In 1881 William Stone (age 77, Wood Turner) lived at The Common in Radnage with his wife Mary (71, Lacemaker) and son James (28, Wood Turner).[6]

William's wife passed away in 1885.

In 1891 William Stone (age 88, Living on His Means) lived at Brook Street in Chipping Wycombe, Buckinghamshire with his daughter Charlotte Smith (56), two granddaughters: Alice Smith (17, Pupil Teacher) and Charlotte Stone (11), and two boarders: Florence Fawkes (20, Laundress) and Ann Bradley (72, Living on Her Means).[7]

William Stone passed away in 1900, aged 96 years. His death was registered in Wycombe in the first quarter of the year.[8]
