Obituary

LEXINGTON- Dorothy E. Stone Sloan, 87, widow of Charles “Red” Sloan, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018. She was born in Clark County, Kentucky to the late Charles S. and Bernice Ellwanger Stone on July 15, 1931. Ms. Sloan was raised in the Baptist Church and spent her life raising her children.

She is survived by her daughters, Rita Sloan and Debbie Curran, both of Lexington; her sons, Marvin (Shirley) Stone, Rockcastle County, Ronny Sloan and Harlan Sloan, both of Lexington; her brothers, Charles Stone, Winchester, Lewis Stone, MO and Danny Stone, Lexington; her grandchildren, Doug Stone, Dorothy Kay Shaw, Becky Bowden, Tina Reed, Sherrie Perry, Kara Sloan, Christopher Sloan and Alex Curran; and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Martha Charlotte Richmond, her sons, Carl and Carlis Sloan; her sisters, Lindsay Marie Yonts, Evelyn Chism, Ester Broome and Roxie Potts; her brothers, Bill Stone, Freddy Stone and Robert Stone.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM Monday, December 17, 2018 at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery. Serving as casketbearers will be Doug Stone, Chris Sloan, Alex Reed, Matthew Perry and Mason Perry. Visitation will be Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 3:00 until 6:00 PM.

Thanks for adding a DNA confirmation statement. Unfortunately, it isn't sufficient to document Dorothy's relationship to her own parents. The DNA matches in your statement support her children's relationship to her, but a DNA match can only confirm BACK TO the Most Recent Common Ancestors (MRCAs) of the matching test takers. It does not support the relationship of one of the MRCAs' to his/her own parents. Please change her relationship to her parents to 'confident'.
