Hey Mahala,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards .

If you need to describe an event, heirloom or a location relevant to your research, try Free Space Profiles .

If you run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving these unfortunate situations.

A project of note is the Global Family Reunion check it out at Global Family Reunion.

Questions? Ask via my profile page. Mags

Hi Again, Mahala! I saw your note on the profile for Unknown Stone. I would love to see how this turns out. Do you have sources you can refer to? Since the profile for someone over 200 years, it should be open to modifications and additions. If you hear from the Manager, he can tell you if it might be the one you are referring to. Regards!
Welcome to WT! I have a Stone family profile here and am always anxious to know other's family to find connections.

Good Day, Ms. Mahala! Welcome to WikiTree. I see your surname is Stone. I and at least one other person is from the Stone families. We would love to compare notes. Again, Welcome.

That's great, Mahala. We are delighted to have you join us!

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.

If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top right, or head over to the G2G forum, you might want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.

Good luck growing your branches, and thanks for offering to help with our shared tree :) - Alison

I agree with your mission.
I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process including screenshots that you might find helpful.

If you have any brick walls, collaboration might help bust through. Because WikiTree has only one profile for each person, the further back you go in your ancestry, the more likely cousins will find you and help out. ANY Wiki Genealogist can edit "Open" profiles (over 200 years old = open). There's also a brickwall tag in the G2G forum: brickwall

The help pages give lots of information about the process, best to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM'.

Hi Mahala,

Welcome as a guest to WikiTree! We're growing a FREE worldwide family tree, striving for ONE collaborative profile for every person.

A couple suggestions to get you started:

1. Our Honor Code is a very important part of why our community is such a friendly place to grow your family tree so please take some time to read it.

2. Feel free to ask a question at our G2G forum .

3. Our help pages, top right, have all sorts of useful information.

4. English not your first language? Here is a link to WikiTree Language Volunteers.

If you would like to contribute, click the volunteer button and leave a comment here on your profile to let our greeters know. You should include a little bit about how you plan to contribute to the tree.

Have Fun! - Alison
