Biography
James was born in 1814. He was the son of Richard Stoney and Jane Butler.
He married Mary Frances Elwood (daughter of Robert Elwood and Anna Jane Vesey) in 1838 in Hereford, Herefordshire, England.[1]
They had the following children:
- Anna Stoney (b. 1839, d. 1932)
- Robert Vesey Stoney (b. 27 Jun 1841, d. 8 Mar 1924)
- Thomas Butler Stoney (b. 27 Feb 1844, d. 5 Mar 1912)
He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)
James lived at Ross-y-Vera, Newport, County Mayo, Ireland.
He passed away in 1897 at the age of 82. [2]
