Biography

Mrs. Zelma Stookey Hay, wife of Raymond M. Hay and daughter-In-Law of former Governor and Mrs. M. E. Hay, died this morning at 5 o’clock at the family residence, #716 Twenty-third avenue. Death resulted from typhoid. Immediate members of the family were at the bedside.

Mrs. Hay was born December 3, 1888, in McDonough county, Ill., and moved with her parents to Lewiston, Idaho, in 1894, where she resided up to the time her husband entered the army in 1917.

She and Mr. Hay were married at Lewiston October 16, 1912.

Mrs. Hay is survived by her husband and a son, Marion E. Hay Jr.; her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Stookey of Lewiston; three sisters, Mrs. R. A. King of Pembina, N. D., and Miss Raymonda and Miss Bonnie Aldine of Lewiston, three brothers O. R. of Bonners Ferry, E. D. of San Francisco and G. A. of Lewiston.

The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Smith & Co. parlors. The body will be shipped to Lewiston for burial and a funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at Vassar’s undertaking parlors there.

The pallbearers for the funeral in Spokane will be Eugene Barnes, Gus Meese, Neil Barnes, Harlow Gibbons, Arnold Gleason and Lloyd Hawley.

The pallbearers for the funeral in Lewiston will be Dr. E. J. Barddock, Harlan Hoyte, Ewing Stevens, William Crapo, A. C. Chase and R. J. White. [1]
