Notes

Nothing more has been documented for George Story. Some trees list his death in South Carolina or Georgia. However, George Story (1725-1805) and Nancy Cantor are the progenitors of the Spartanburg, SC family. This is documented in, The family Storey : George Storey & his descendants, 1725-1955.[5]

By about 1810, several sons of George and Elizabeth Story, including Nathan, Jesse and George, are located in the area of southern Illinois which would later become Pope County. Their brother John was in also living in Pope by 1820. Jesse and George Story later migrated to Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
