  • create profiles for Robert's parents and siblings using the information in 1850 and 1860 censuses.
  • Peter Story owned land in Jo Davies County, Illinois. Use the FamilySearch Catalog to look at records for "Illinois, Jo Davies". Scroll down the list to the land deeds. Click on the camera icon next to General Index to Grantee Deeds (film 7857358) to open the images. Go to image 187. Look for Peter Story. Record the information (especially the page number) on his line. Keep looking further down the page and on the next pages to see if he bought more property. Book letters are difficult to read. Peter has two purchases on this page, both are in Book D. Repeat this search in the Grantors Index, film 1579648. You should be able to find the sales for his property (there is one on image 194)
  • Peter Story may have owned land in Iowa. Need to use a FamilySearch library or and affiliate library to look at the land deeds for Lee County, Iowa.
  • Look for Robert, his father and his siblings in the 1870 census
