The son of James Storey and Mildred (Nelson) Story, Roy Story was born in Wayne County, Tennessee in 1901.[citation needed] He lived there with his family.[1] He married Minnie Bell Hollis (1902-1956), the daughter of Aaron Monroe Hollis and Rachel Ann McGee, marrying in Lawrence County, Tennessee on July 27, 1919.[2] They had one son together, Hollis Boyd Story (1922-1987). In 1920, he and Minnie lived with Roy's family in Civil District 15.[3] Roy Story died from a gunshot wound to the head, an apparent suicide, at the age of 23.[4] He is buried at Bethlehem Cemetery in rural Wayne County, Tennessee.[5]
