Biography
The daughter of James Story and Mildred (Nelson) Story, Ellen Story was born in Wayne County, Tennessee[citation needed] in 1909, residing there with her family.[1] By 1920, Ellen and her family lived in Lawrence County, near West Point.[2]
She married Russell Guinn, the son of Jacob Guinn and Minnie Brazier, marrying in Lawrence County, Tennessee on December 8, 1927[3] and having one son together. They made their home in Lawrence County's Civil District 15, where Ellen's husband worked at a sawmill.[4]
Ellen and Russell may have divorced and remarried, with the second marriage taking place in Lawrence County, Tennessee on February 12,1 935.[5] Her husband enlisted in the United States Army, enlisting on October 4, 1939 and being discharged on October 4, 1945. In 1940, Ellen and their son lived on Pinkney Road in West Point,[6] down the road from her in-laws. She did not list an occupation or an income that year. After her husband's return from the war, he took up farming, residing together in Lawrence County.[7]
Ellen Guinn passed away in Westpoint, Tennessee at the age of 82[8] and is buried at Blair Cemetery there.[9]
