Michael Story was baptized on 21 Jun 1772, at the First Presbyterian Church, Old South, in Newburyport, Essex County, in the Province of Massachusetts Bay. He was the son of Joseph Story, Jr..)^[1] He may have been born in 1669, although this estimate has no known source.

Michael married Betsey Goodhue on 19 Feb 1795.^[2]

Although there is no record preserved in the Ipswich collection for Betsey Goodhue Story's death, there is a second marriage recorded in Ipswich for Michael Story: to Lydia Storey on 7 Mar 1810.^[3]
