Bridget Story was baptized on 4 June 1592 in Chesterton, Cambridgeshire, England. Her parents were Robert and Elizabeth (Forman) Story.[1][2]
Bridget married Edmund Jackson on 9 February 1614/5 in Fen Ditton, Cambridgeshire, England.[2][3] Edmund was of Boston, Lincolnshire, England at the time of the marriage, and Bridget and Edmund spent the rest of their lives there.
Bridget and Edmund had children, all born in Boston:[2][4]
In the records of the births and deaths of his children Edmund was styled "mercer" in 1616, 1617, and 1621; as "gent." in 1619 and 1628, as "mayor"in 1629, and as "alderman" in 1630, 1631, and 1637. He was evidently much involved in the management of town affairs of Boston.[2][4]
Bridgett (Story) Jackson was buried on 4 April 1631[2][4], no doubt worn out by birthing 12 children in 14 years.
Edmund married, second, Faith (Unknown), about 1633, in Boston. They had children:[2][4]
Edmund died, intestate, and was buried on 8 March 1637/8.[2][4] His widow Faith administered his estate, which was probated in the Consistory Count of Lincoln (viewable with restricted access on FHL 0199325).
Bridget's son Samuel died unmarried at an early age, and he left a will dated 7 August 1642. In it he mentions his father Edmund and siblings Nathaniel, Sarah, Elisha, and both sisters Mary.[2] Not mentioned are siblings Elizabeth, Israel, Joshua, and half-sibling Joseph, suggesting that they had all died prior to the will date.
