Shelby County KY tax records record only one William Stout in the county--Rev. William Stout, son of Elijah and Martha (Matthews) Stout. There is no son William in Reuben Stout's family. Reuben Stout shows two younger males in his 1806-1808 tax lists, and in 1810 census--he only has two younger males age 16-26. These two younger males are Jonathan Stout and Reuben (Jr). This is confirmed by Reuben's 400 acre tract (in Breckinridge Co) being divided by 1816--Reuben Sr 200a, Reuben (Jr) 100a, and Jonathan 100a.
No records show a William; it appears that Reuben and Mary (VanDyke) Stout did not have a son William.
