Enoch Stout was born about 1783 in Prince William County, Virginia. A brief obituary printed in 1849 gave his age as 66. His birth year is calculated from the obituary.
In 1827, Enoch Stout (then of Clark Co, IN) sold to John Stout of Shelby Co, KY, his 1/11 part of the land of Benjamin Stout.[1] Enoch of Clark Co, IN also sold 58 acres on Plumb Creek, adjoining John Turnham, to Clagett Stout.[2] The same land was referenced in an 1825 deed from Enoch Stout and Delilah Stout his wife, to Aaron Stout.[3] Delilah Stout later relinquished her rights to the 58 acres in a deed to William Tucker.[4] These deeds confirm that Enoch, the husband of Delilah Whitaker, was also the son of Benjamin Stout.
