Biography

Abraham was born about 1790. He is the son of George Stover and Catherine Price. He married Amy Rader. They had May & Elizabeth.

Abraham Stover is my gggg grandfather. The picture I uploaded depicts the cemetery of the Old Blue River Church of Christ (later Christian Church). Somewhere in that cemetery lie the bodies of Abraham, his wife, Amy Rader, their daughter Elizabeth and her husband John B Brough. If their graves were ever marked they aren’t now.

Abraham came to Washington County, IN as a member of the German Baptist faith, but soon became a member at Blue River Church of Christ.

The church that stood here was the earliest church in Washington County, IN to become adherents of the Restoration Movement. Elder Wright was preaching here before anyone else, very early on in the history of this County.
