Thomas married Marth Harrison in 1870. Martha was a widow with a five year old son, Robert Metcalf. Thomas and Martha would have four children between 1870 and 1874.
Thomas passed away on July 6, 1903. He was buried in Utley Cemetery, Utley, Bradford, Yorkshire.
