Biography

Walker Stowell was born in Marsden, Lancashire, England.

Walker was born in Marsden, Lancashire, England, in 1834. He was the son of Walker Stowell and Hannah Stow. He was baptized on August 24, 1834 in Keighley, Yorkshire. (A distance of about seventeen miles, and where his father was born). He was enumerated in the 1841 census residing with his family at Marsden Hall, Whalley, Lancashire.

Walker was married twice. He and his first wife, Eliza Loynd, were married on December 26, 1850, in Marsden, Lancashire, and had four children together. Eliza died in 1872, and Walker married Mary Midgley in Keighley, Yorkshire, in 1873. He and Mary had two children.

He passed away on July 20, 1895. His death was registered in Bradford, Yorkshire. Walker was buried on July 24, 1895 at Saint John's in Ingrow and Hainworth, Yorkshire.
