Janet was born about 1575 daughter to William Strachan of Glenkindie and Janet Forbes, daughter to the laird of Brux. [1] [2]
Janet married Alexander Garden sometime of Banchory about 1608.

On 28 Sep 1609 Alexander Garden of Banchory acted as cautioner for William Strachan of Glenkindie, Alexander Strachan of Touxhill, Alexander Strachan, Fiar of Glenkindie and their tenants when John Erskine of Pittodrie accused them of sowing corn on the Back Moss of Auchnagat.[3]
