Florence was born Florence Hilda Strain in 1887 Batley, Yorkshire [1] & baptised Florence Hilda Strain on 20 October 1895 Allerton Bywater, Yorkshire the daughter of Walter Strain (Superintendent of Police) & Annie Elizabeth of Otley. [2]
With siblings & parents in 1891 living in Courthouse Street, Otley, Yorkshire.[3]
