He married Jane Smith on 14 may 1862 at the Registar's Office in Newtownards, County Down, Ireland. [1]
He married Mary Dickson on 3 June 1874 at the Registar's Office in Newtownards, County Down, Ireland. [2]
In 1901 on Census Day Robert was living with his wife Mary Dickson (54) and son HughStrain (20). They were residents of a house 11 in Hogstown (Ballycross, Down). He was 56 years old. [3]
He passed away in 1925.
