Biography

Samuel was born in 1920. He is the son of Thomas Strain and Agnes Douglas.

Samuel enlisted in WWII and served with the Royal Artillery 152 (The Ayrshire Yeomanry) Field Regt. Regimental No 977556, rank Gunner. He died in 1943 aged 23.

Gunner Samuel Strain is buried at Massicault War Cemetery. Grave reference IV. K. 8.

Samuel is also remember in his hometown on the Airdrie War Memorial.
