Research notes
Dalton
[6],
claims in his book, that Ann Stratford was the only child of Euseby Stratford, the brother of of 1st Earl of Aldborough. This Euseby, who had other known children, died by July 1753, so would have died when Ann was very young, making her in her 30s when she married, (which is not impossible, but unlikely given her last child was born in 1804). It is more probable that she was the daughter of Euseby's son, Euseby, who died pre May 1778. The landed Estates site [7], claims she was the only child of Euseby Stratford, nephew of the 1st Earl of Aldborough.
In Ann's daughter Jane's Marriage settlement [8]
, names Janes grandmother as beings Jane Stratford (Thus Anne's mother was named Jane). This make s it more likely that she is the daughter of Euseby Stratford, who was married to Jane Robinson in 1755, son of Euseby Stratford, the brother of of 1st Earl of Aldborough. He is known to have had 2 sons though, and contemporaneous records only mention these 2 sons. It is possible that she was the daughter of his brother Francis Stratford, whose wife was also named Jane. Their other brother Benjamin married a Jane as well, but his will does not mention any children.
Ann's mother died in Leeson Street, Dublin in 1813. [9]
Note: No contemporaneous records link Ann to either of the Euseby's mentioned above. There were also other Esuseby Stratfords living in this period, and it is possible that she is the daughter of one of them instead.
She possibly died in 1826, as a burial record exists for an unknown Kirwan of Leeson Street, although this may be one of her children. [10]
