On 22 Dec 1769 Rob married Mary Stratton in Goldington, Bedfordshire.[1] They moved to Northill where they lived for the rest of their lives.
On the parish register records for several of his children's baptisms and the burial of his first wife Mary Robert was noted as being a labourer, also a pauper and at times throughout the years receiving parish relief.
Robert and Mary had eight children - six girls, two boys before Mary's death in 1786. Only three girls survived childhood.
