On 01 Mar 1860 Stephen received a military bounty land grant from Warrant #65,019 for his service as Corporal in Captain Gordon's Company, Tennessee Miliary in the War of 1812, for 120 acres of land in Arkansas. He assigned (sold) the land to Edward M. Allen.[6]
He died sometime after 1860 and before 1870 possibly in Monroe County, Arkansas where he was living at that time.[2][5]
Stephen married Elizabeth Brownlow, daughter of James and Polly, on 11 Apr 1809. [7]
