Biography

John was born in 1812. He passed away in 1894.

John Rinehart and Adaline Dance came to Princeton, Bureau County in 1854 with their seven children in a covered wagon. [Brothers, Levi, Ellis and Samuel are also found in Bureau Co.] Our grandmother Elizabeth was a girl of thirteen years and tis said that she rode her mother’s saddle horse, Sally, much of the way. She was a gaited-racker so our dear teenage of long ago had an experience to recall- do wish I had heard her relate it. I did spend summer 1909 with grandparents in Winterset but was not aware of the family history at that time. Now dear Younger generation feel free to ask questions older relatives have much to relate. Pearl Schaffer Cradduck's unpublished family history book.
