Anna grew up in North Coventry, Connecticut. Her father was Nathan Strong , the minister at the Second Congregational Church of Coventry. His picture is in the church. Her mother was Esther Meacham, who was also the daughter of a minister in Coventry.
In the 1810 census she appears by herself in Coventry. An Eliphaz Hunt is recorded nearby.
