In the 1880 US Census, Anice Brooks (43) born in 1837 in New York, [Her father born in Connecticut,her mother in Maine) lived with her husband, George F Brooks, 45. Their children were Jenny F, 22, George W, 19 and Warner, 17 al born in New York and Lillian G, 11 and Edith R, 8 both born in Connecticut. [1]. If this is our Anice, she's not the mother of Richard Saxon Strong's grandchildren.
