He served the United States Army during World War II. He enlisted on November 26, 1943 and was discharged on July 30, 1945. He received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Medal.[1]
He died, at the age of 87, on July 24, 2006 in Opelika, Alabama. He is buried at the Salem Macon Baptist Church Cemetery, Notasulga, Macon County, Alabama. [2]
