Biography
The son of John Strong and Minnie (Gage) Strong, Harold was born in Walled Lake, Michigan in 1894.[1] Soon afterward, his family relocated to Riverside, California.[2] According to his draft card, completed on June 5, 1917, Harold was a man of medium height and build with dark brown hair and eyes. He was a college student at the time.[3] He enlisted in the Marine Corps on December 6, 1918, eventually rising to the rank of Lt. Colonel, and retired on April 1, 1950;[4] he fought in both World War I and World War II.[5]
He married Louise S., about whom little is found.[6][7] He married a second time, marrying Mona Maurine Miller in Montgomery, Alabama on November 15, 1947.[8] He passed away in 1955[9] and is buried at Fort Rosacrans National Cemetery in San Diego, California.[10]
