Research Note
1. Williams birth record lists his parents as Joseph and "Madeline" with a question mark after Madeline. It is important to know that all Birth, Death and Marriage records in Newfoundland were kept by the churches until 1949, when Newfoundland joined Canada, The records were then hand copied onto Government records. Some errors were made because of hard to read hand writing. Madeline instead of Athalia was one of them.
2. His death record has his death date as Feb 1, 1937. His gravestone as his death date as Feb 2, 1936.
