Biography

William Ellswsorth Strong was born in South Natick, Massachusetts on 9 April 1860 the son of Reverend E.E. and Elizabeth (Mitchell) Strong of Auburndale, Massachusetts.

He graduated Dartmouth College in 1882, Hartford Theology Seminary in 1884 and settled in Beverly, Massachusetts where he was the pastor of the Washington Street Congregational Church.

He married Ellen Olmsted of East Hartford, Connecticut and they had five children: Elizabeth, Margaret, Ellsworth, Helen, and Robert.

William died on 7 March 1934 in Newtonville, Middlesex County, Masschusetts and is buried there in the Newton Cemetery. [1]

Research Notes

The Olmsted genealogy states that in 1895 he moved to Jackson, Michigan. His children born after that date were born in Massachusetts. This needs further research.
