Biography

James Strother, presumed son of James and Martha French, was born about 1753 in Virginia, He died before January, 1828.

1828 WILL: Fauquier Co, VA, dated 17 Dec 1821, probated 28 Jan 1828; will of James Strother of Leeds Parish: dau Margaret Utterback; wife Mary; sons, Lewis, Jeremiah, John; daus, Molly Kemp and Nancy Jackson, to have property at death of step-mother; execs: sons, Lewis, Jeremiah and James.

Mary Strother married 1807 to Joseph Glascock [1]

Jeremiah Strother married Nancy Clayton, (sister of Philip, and daughter of Samuel), Nancy was the grandmother of the Rev. J. S. Hansbrough, and Mrs. Judge Williams of Orange C. H., Colonel Woodson Hansbrough, and Mrs. Waldridge. [2]
