David C. Strutton, son of Joseph Strutton and Christiana Unknown, was born in March 1842 in Burke County, North Carolina. He passed away in January 1906 in Milam County, Texas.
David is listed with his parents as "Strutton" in 1860. When he married his name was given as David C. Stratten and census records list him as "Stratten" or "Stratton." His children apparently used the spelling "Stratton."
David is with his parents, Joseph and Christiana, now living in Jackson County with children David C., age 18, Martha, age 16, Elizabeth, age 14, Catherine, age 9, Rhoda, age 9, and J. Catherine and Rhoda are 9-year old twins. J. was male, 4 years old. He has not been identified and does not appear on the 1870 census.
