Archibald John Morton Stuart (19th Earl of Moray) was born on 14 November 1894 at 2 Belford Park, Edinburgh. He was the son of Morton Gray Stuart (17th Earl of Moray) and Edith Douglas Palmer[1].
In the 1901 census Archibald (age 6) was the son of Morton Gray Stuart in Saint George, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. According to the census he was born in Edinburgh.[2]
He was educated at the Royal Naval College, Osborne, Isle of Wight, England. He was educated at Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, Devon, England.
In the First World War:
He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the service of the Royal Navy.
In the Second World War:
He succeeded to his lands & titles on 9 July 1943.
He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Morayshire in 1949.
He died on 27 March 1974 at Forres, Morayshire[3].
Marriage
On 28 January 1922 he married Mabel Helen Maud Wilson, daughter of Benjamin Wilson.
