Louisa Maria Teresa (or Theresa) was the youngest daughter of James II, King of England, and his second wife Mary of Modena, and was born in exile at the Chateau de Saint-Germain-en-Laye, near Paris, France on 28 June 1692 (new style; 18 June, old style).
She was baptised at the Chapel Royal of St Louis at St Germain-en-Laye with Louis XIV, King of France, and Elisabeth Charlotte, Duchess of Orleans as her godparents and given the name Louise Marie (Louisa Maria in English). The additional name of Teresa (or Theresa or Therese) was probably added at her confirmation.
Princess Louise Marie died at 9 am on 18 April 1712 (New Style) in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, and her body was transferred two days later to Paris for burial.[1]
