Richard Stewart was born on 15 October 1704 in Rowley, Massachusetts, British Colonial America. He was the son of Ebenezer Stewart and his wife Elizabeth Johnson.
He was in the military service in Maine, from 25 Dec., 1724 to 24 Apr., 1725 (Reg. 46: 364). He lived in the house , in later years known as the "Fletcher-Pike place" on Warren Street, Georgetown. He sold his property, 13 Feb., 1753, to John Pike of Newbury (Essex Deeds, 104: 145) and moved to Leominster, Mass, where he died aged 73 years. His will, dated 23 June, 1773, was filed 4 Nov., 1777, The will of his widow, Mary Stewart (aka Stuart), dated 19 Aug., 1779, was filed 4 Apr. 1780. ~ Cited Early Settlers of Rowley Massachusetts.
Richard made his home in Newbury, Rowley, Byfield, and Leominster, Massachusetts.
His exact date of death is not clear, but since he lived to age 73, he is believed to have passed away between October and November 1777.
Richard Stewart was Married to his 1st wife Judith Poore on April 4, 1728 in Newbury, Massachusetts, British Colonial America. Judith Poor was daighter to Josepth and Mary [Wallingford] Poor. She died in 1747.
Richard was re-married in Newbury, 14 July1748, Mary, widow of Jonathan Stickney and daughter of Samuel and Sarah (Redington) Fisk of Boxford.
