Alexander Stuart was born about 1685 in Botriphnie, Banffshire, Scotland. He was the son of Hendrie Stuart and his wife Helen Grant.
He was baptised on 3 February 1685 in the parish of Botriphnie, Banffshire, Scotland.
He died in the Parish of Rothes and Dundurcas on the First of February 1746. He was buried in Dundurcas Churchyard with his wife and three youngest son's.

It isn't very clear (blue question mark on either side) but the index record at the top of the page says 03/02/1685 and is for Botriphnie.
I am uncertain as to whether or not this is the correct person for my line as my lot seem to have persistently adhered to the Scottish naming tradition. Which since Alexander's oldest son was called William would indicate that Alexander's father was likely called William.
However, as Alexander and Isabell Jock were married in 1705 and William their apparently eldest son was baptised in 1708 it is feasible that they had another son before him called Henrie who did not long survive past birth.
I'll try to find out but if a child was stillborn or died soon after birth they may not have been registered.
The other matter which is causing me some doubt is that this is the first time, the only time, I have seen the name Henry used anywhere on the Stuart side of my family.
