My great-grandfather was Thomas John Stubbs, born 1858 at Maroota, on the Hawkesbury River. My Grandfather was his second son Valley Joseph David Clyde born 1893, and his eldest brother Thomas died without issue. My Grandmother was Alice Olive Mellor born 1890 in Gympie, Queensland. My father was the eldest son, and I am the eldest son.
We are still trying to discover the Stubbs/Wingate trail in England.
Thank you for making me feel so welcomed. I have been dabbling with genealogy for a little time, but only in a limited manner. I am now trying to expand my horizons. What I would like to learn from WikiTree are the methods of genealogy - for example how to link a christening record in one town with a marriage in another, where the names of the parents to the marriage are not known. Another example is how to access and search shipping records of the 1800's - I am in Australia. I have been an attendee at the annual Stubbs Reunion at Ebenezer, and have information on the Stubbs line back to their arrival in Australia in 1802. It is some of the maternal lines which are lacking. I look forward to discussion with other members, and to contributing to the family-trees, though I am a little apprehensive about some of my information that lacks proper source credentials. regards Tom

Also, you mentioned that you would like to communicate with others, but your Privacy Level setting is set to "Private" (red lock). For others on WikiTree to collaborate with you, it would help if you set your Privacy Level to "Private with Public Family Tree" (light orange lock). You can learn more about the Privacy Level settings here.
Furthermore, exploring the site is the best way to learn what WikiTree has to offer. If you have questions, you can always use the Forum ("G2G") link in the Help Menu to ask questions/find answers.
