Biography

John was born in 1808. He worked as a farm/agricultural labourer, although is recorded as a shoemaker on his daughter Mary's birth records.

John married Margaret in 1833, witnessed by William Leadiell and Henry Cockerill.

In 1841, he was residing in High Street, Scalby with his family and mother? Sarah Stubbs.

In 1881 he was living in Cloughton with his wife and 2 grandsons - John E Leadley and Charles Leadley. His residence is recorded as 'Bird Yard'.
