Maurice Studdert was born in Ireland.

Maurice Studdert, of Elm Hill, was born in about 1710. He was the fourth son of Reverend George Studdert and Millicent Rose of Ardlaman, Rathkeale, county Limerick,

Maurice married Elizabeth Agnes Hewitt at Rathkeale on 30 April 1749.^[1]

They had the following children:

1. Mellicent, baptised 10th April 1750^[2]
2. Bridgett, baptised 2nd May 1751^[3]
3. Elizabeth Agness, baptised 27th January 1753^[4] possibly the Agnes Elizabeth who married Ulick FitzMaurice

5. Elizabeth, baptised 26th February 1758^[6] probably died young
6. Isabella, baptised 2nd September 1759^[7]
7. Elizabeth, 23rd May 1762^[8] probably died young
