Biography

1776 Project
Private Mathias Stump served with York County Militia, Pennsylvania Militia during the American Revolution.
Daughters of the American Revolution
Mathias Stump is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A110523.

It's possible his name is Johann Mathias Stump.

Mentioned as "John" as the wife of Margaret Klinepeter in her father's will in 1809.[1]. Some sources say Margaret Klinepeter's wife was John or Mathias. I have not determined if these are name errors, or if they are two different people who have both been linked to Margaret Klinepeter.

Served in the Revolutionary War with his wife's brothers, in Captain Andrew Bally's Company, York County, Pennsylvania.[2] This may also actually be Matthias, going by "John" instead.
