I have been researching genealogy and family history since 2015. I was born in Adams County, Illinois, lived in Cleveland, Ohio for seven years, and currently live in New York City. Most of my ancestors are from the Adams County and McDonough County, Illinois areas, and trace back to Germany, Ohio and Pennsylvania in the 1700s.

Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns about the pages I manage. [1]

Brian, do you happen to speak any other languages? Would you check out our languages template and add it to your biography? For example you might add

{{ Languages | en | fr-2 | ga-1 }}

to the top of your biography if you speak English natively, intermediate French and basic Irish, or you could use de-4 to specify near-native German or ru-1 for basic Russian, and so forth up to ten languages.

It really helps to know who speaks all the different languages used on WikiTree! If you only speak English, you're very welcome to use this text to make that clear:

{{ Languages | en }}

Hello Brian, Thank you for volunteering to help grow our World Wide Family Tree. You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.

If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top left, or head over to the Help section or head over to the G2G forum and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House, you might also want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.

Good luck growing your branches, Patt

My grandfather did a massive amount of genealogical work in his lifetime. I have been sifting through the data for a couple years now, and I would like to place it and build on it with an online resource. I discovered wikitree as a free and useful tool for doing so, and I don't really have any intention to pay for genealogy services elsewhere. Because of this, I would like to volunteer to help contribute to wikitree's mission, to expand other's knowledge as well as my own.
