Catherine was born in 1832. She was the daughter of John Adam Stump and Margaret Hose. She passed away in 1917. [1]
Catherine and her husband, Hyman Morrison, traveled by train with her brother (John Stump) and his family from York County, Pennsylvania to McDonough County, Illinois in the fall of 1866 to the spring of 1867. The battle of Gettysburg in 1863 had convinced the two families that it was time to leave Pennsylvania. John purchased 600 acres of land in Bethel township, while Catherine and Hyman would later move further west. [2]
Catherine is buried in Portland, Oregon.[3]
