I can only find 1 Miriam Stetson in "The Descendants" but HE was born in 1888 in California.
A Daniel Drinkwater married Rebecca Fisher (who was born in Maine). This is on Page 72 of Vol 1, No.1 of the "Descendants of Cornet Robert Stetson." Her father was Samuel Fisher, son of Samuel and Deborah (Stetson) Fisher, there's no birth date given but it would be after 1752.

Jo - that means someone needs to look at the Drinkwater family and see where the Stetson's snuck in - O.F. Stetson and Barry did a phenominal job tracking down all the old Stetson links, and the newer group of Stetson genealogical gurus use sources gathered from the family for years. There are many dead ends in the Stetson books, so the trick would be to go and look for some of them.
I am chsoing down the 2 Waterman Stetsons and should be done documenting them this week, then I'll take a further look.
The bit of info about James and Miriam Stetson is from p. 15 of "The Drinkwater Family The Ancestors and Descendants of Micajan Drinkwater of Northport, Maine, and Elizabeth Bradford, His Wife." by John Fernald.
I am working on the line of Stetson, that runs from Joseph, Samuel, Abner, Abner today. I hope to find a Driknwater in there so maybe we can tie this whole family together.
Unless a Stetson snuck over from England that escaped the Stetson Kindred's notice....?
