Spelsbury Parish Register for Baptisms records him being baptised: 10 July 1853, STURDY, Charles - Parents Mark & Jane, Labourer, Taston.

So assume he was born June 1853.

The Sturdy family from Taston were farm labourers. Charles moved to Birmingham to find work. He drove a horse and dray delivering vinegar (Sarsons vinegar?).

Joyce told me he suffered from absence seizures, previously known as petit mal seizures so Susan would not let him attend the wedding of his son Charles and Dora in case he had a turn.
