Obadiah, the sixth child of James I, was born in Nelson (?) County, Kentucky, in 1805, and died in 1893. He married Nancy Amos and they were the parents of 14 children: Sarah J., born May 29, 1833; Johnson A., born November 17, 1834; Truax, born December 25, 1836; Elizabeth, born September 17, 1838; James W., born September 17, 1840; John H., born June 4, 1843; Lucinda, Dorinda, Charles, Harvey, Amanda, Harriet, Sinclair, Obadiah, George T. and Nancy Margaret; the dates of the births of the last nine children were not furnished. Of this family of fourteen children, I have knowledge of but one. (pg. 184-185)

James I, son of John I, was born in 1758, probably in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, and went with his father to Kentucky (Nelson County, John W. says) where he married Elizabeth ___ and they moved to Hart County, Kentucky where they reared a family of ten children: James, John, Jeremiah, Rolly, Laura, Ransom, Traux, Betsy, Obadiah and Polly. I have the history of two of these, Jeremiah and Obadiah. Rolly is said to have gone to Indiana. (page 183)
