Biography
son of Samuel and Abigail Sturges.
m. Dec. 7, 1777 Abigail Squire.
Children: Thomas, Nancy, Henry Judson, Harriet and Abigail.
During the revolutionary war, he was killed in an encounter with tories on Long Island Sound. (Cutter)
His will is dated 9 December 1782 and proved on 7 January 1783, and neglected to be recorded until 1793. His inventory was taken on 14 March 1783 and recorded on 18 June 1793.[1]
In 1816, his estate set out to his widow was distributed to Thomas Sturges, Nancy, wife of Sturges Thorp, Harriet, wife of Arthur Callum, and Abigail, wife of Stephen Barlow.[2]
