Ernest E. Stutz, 78, Route 1, Molalla, died Monday evening at home following an illness of several years.

He was born June 20, 1886 in Chicago, and grew up there. He married Laura May Burrill at Chebanse, Illinois on February 5, 1908 and resided in Illinois and Beulah, North Dakota before coming to Oregon in 1937 where he made his home since.

He was a farmer and had been the sexton for Adams Cemetery several years before suffering a stroke in April, 1960. He had been bedfast since. He was a member of the Molalla Christian Church.

Survivors include his widow, two sons, Arthur R., Shirley T., both of Molalla; a daughter, Mrs. Bob Ricksgers, Molalla; two sisters, Anne Welch, Canton, Illinois, and Lydia Fortin, Bradley, Illinois; nine grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00, July 29, at Molalla Chapel of Everhart and Kent. Interment will follow at Adams Cemetery.
