Zelotus Eveline Sugg was born about 1810 in Henderson County, Kentucky. [1][2][3] She was the daughter of Allen J. Sugg.
On 13 July 1836 in Henderson County, she married Benjamin Armstrong. Thomas Evans, minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Henderson, Kentucky performed the ceremony.[4]

Zelotus "Z.E." Armstrong was enumerated with husband Ben Armstrong and their three children: Elizabeth E, Benjamin F, Eliza J. In addition, Benjamin's grandchildren: Newton Jasper, Mary E and Richard B lived with them.[2] Note: NJ and his two siblings were grouped together and were designated as not attending school, perhaps Ben didn't know at the time. Note, Webster county was formed in 1860 from parts of Henderson, Hopkins, and Union Counties.
