Stephen was born 05 September 1825[1][2] in Simpson County, Mississippi..[3]
He married wife Mary Ann about 1849[4] and the couple had the following known children:
Thomas Sullivan was born in Mississippi about 1850.[5]
Franklin Sullivan was born in Mississippi about 1852.[5][6]
Anselm J. Sullivan was born in Mississippi[5][6][7] on 14 Oct 1856, died 30 Mar 1920 and is buried in Hollywood Cemetery, McComb, Mississippi.[8]
Stephen's wife Mary, who was born in October of 1828 in Mississippi bore him four children, three of whom were still living in 1900, so it appears she may have had a child who was born between the 1850 and 1860 census' who died young, during that same time.[2]
Stephen died of pneumonia[9]in Pike County, Mississippi on 13[10] February 1908[11] and is buried in Barron Bethany Cemetery, McComb, Pike County, Mississippi.
Served in the Confederate States Army in Company G, 5th MS Infantry.[12]
"Died 2 miles northeast of McComb, SS Sullivan, 82 years 5 months, 8 days. Services from Bethany Methodist Church. Father of A. Sullivan. To Pike County from Smith County in 1872."[11]
